Here’s what to expect:

    • Crews will be working in the northbound lanes until mid-October.

  • Golf Road intersection will remain open during this phase of work.

  • Driveway access will be maintained during construction.

Please plan ahead and expect minor delays during this time. We appreciate your patience as we improve the roadway.

About the Project

The project aims to reduce collisions, ease traffic flow, and enhance overall driver safety by:

  • Consolidating lanes and adding a traffic signal to the intersection of Golden State Boulevard and Golf Road

  • Upgrading the Paulson Road and South Berkeley Avenue intersection with traffic signals and lane widening. All traffic signals will be coordinated with railroad traffic to reduce delays and improve safety.

  • Adding a new right-in/right-out intersection and raised concrete median, limiting left turns for northbound access from Golf Road to South 1st Street

  • Adding U-turns at the new signalized Golf Road intersection to provide access to northbound South 1st Street from Golf Road. A separate right-in/right-out access to Golden State Boulevard from South 1st Street will also be added.
